How we book appointments

We book appointments differently depending on what your issue is.   For things like periodic health exams and diabetes visits these are usually booked in advance depending on when you need them.  These slots may often be booked weeks or months in advance.  For issues that are more urgent we usually have a few same day appointment slots available and usually plenty of space to be seen in less than a week.  We have online booking as well.

Prescription renewals

Prescription renewals go through the pharmacy.  They fax us a renewal request once you ask them to.  We usually get to the renewals within a day or two but if you wait until you are down to your last few pills to request, you are setting yourself up to run out.  If we are out of the office or we are too busy to get to the request before your last pill then you are not going to get your medicine on time.

Please give yourself ample time, such as two weeks.  If you are not keen to count pills, your pharmacy can tell you how many days you have left.  It is not your doctor's responsibility to know how much of each medication you have left nor to check all of your pills for all of your prescriptions when you come for something else unrelated to those pills.

Paying for prescription renewals without a doctor’s visit is an OPTIONAL service that is not covered by OHIP. It still has to be medically appropriate to renew the medications either way however. If you do not want to pay or think that you shouldn’t have to, please do not purchase this service. You can make an appointment with us or a walk in clinic if you prefer.
